Members of the project team drove approximately 80 percent of roads in the County that were identified as suitable for the study and recorded the coverage and capacity characteristics of mobile voice and data signals from major providers. Based on these data, the project team was able to identify and map geographic areas with problematic service. After establishing where coverage does and does not exist in the County, the project team identified possible locations where cell towers could be built or existing facilities could be utilized to mount antennas and provide coverage in areas with gaps. Based on this analysis, the project team identified five locations where the County could erect a new cell tower to help improve coverage (listed in order from most to least optimal): • Middletown-Odessa-Townsend Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (810 Old Corbitt Road, Middletown, Del.) • Back Creek Drive (112 Back Creek Drive, Middletown, Del.) • Wiggins Mill Park (488 Wiggins Mill Road, Townsend, Del.) • Old County Road (3180 Old County Road, Newark, Del.) • Bonyare Park (0 Deergrass Road, Hockessin, Del.)
