Purpose: It's the intent of the City of Longwood hereinafter referred to as the "CITY", to request bid(s) from qualified firms to construct pedestrian, drainage, landscape and hardscape improvements and other work relating and proximate to the RONALD REAGAN BOULEVARD (CR427) HARDSCAPE AND LANDSCAPE PROJECT. This contract comprises the construction of hardscape and landscape improvements in areas adjacent to Ronald Reagan Boulevard. The project includes the following items of work, which include, but are not limited to: o In general, improvements include grading, drainage, hardscaping and landscaping. o Hardscaping of the west side of CR 427 from Warren Avenue to Jessup Avenue. The hardscaping will include planters with integral seating, pavers and decorative fencing with laser cut steel panels and backlighting as well as a trellis. Trellis is an optional bid item. o The installation of a water feature and associated infrastructure around the existing clock tower. The water feature is an optional bid item. o Landscaping is planned for the hardscape area as well as the CR 427 medians within the project limit. Irrigation is also included in the landscaping. o Stormwater improvements include new inlets, piping, rain gardens and modifications to the existing stormwater pond on the east side of CR 427, south of Palmetto Avenue. o Installation of some elements occur in an areas with existing facilities that are intended to remain. o Coordinate all work efforts to minimize the impact of work to local businesses and city events. o The following items contained within the project should be bid as optional: o Clocktower water feature and the associated illuminated foam jets, pump vault and infrastructure (Plan Symbols WF-101, WF-102, WF-103). o The trellis around the clock tower, plan symbol SF-105. o Brick veneer to be placed on concrete walls, plan symbol H-103.
