Renovation of an educational facility in Middletown, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
**As of March 3, 2025 the project has not been awarded yet. The timeline for award has not yet been established.** The Work generally includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following major elements: 1. Removal of existing membrane roofing, insulation, cant strips and tapered edges, and metal flashings. 2. Removal of existing asphalt shingles, underlayments, metal flashings, drip edges, gutters, and downspouts. 3. Offsite disposal of all removed materials. 4. Removal and replacement of existing roof hatches and other roof accessories. 5. Removal and replacement of deteriorated roof decking and wood blocking. 6. Removal and replacement of existing roof drains and related piping and insulation. 7. Provision and installation of EPDM membranes, underlayment, and flat and tapered insulations. 8. Provision and installation of asphalt shingles, ice and water shield, and associated components as detailed and specified. 9. Provision and installation of new flashings, caps, fasciae, and other trim metal work as detailed and specified, including new gutters, downspouts, and scuppers. 10. Scraping, priming, and painting of existing metal ladders. Wilbert Snow Elementary School Roof Replacement 299 Wadsworth Street Middletown, CT 06457. All questions concerning this bid shall be submitted in writing via email to Christopher Puorro, Purchasing Agent, at puorroc@mpsct.org by Wednesday, January 15, 2025 by 5:00 pm to be considered. A bid bond for five percent (5%) of the base bid cost is required and must accompany each proposal. The successful bidder must file a one hundred percent (100%) Performance Bond, a one hundred percent (100%) Labor & Materials Bond and a Certificate of Insurance with the Purchasing Agent within ten (10) days of notice of bid award. In accordance with Connecticut General Statute Sections 4a-100 and 4b-91, a responsible bid must contain two (2) documents: The Contractor Prequalification Certificate and the Update (Bid) Statement. The classification ROOFING is required as a minimum. This contract is subject to state set-aside and contract compliance requirements. The Middletown Board of Education reserves the right to waive any defect in any bid and reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part thereof. Bids, amendments to, or withdrawals of bids received after the time set for the receipt of bids will not be considered.
