Excavation, Class 13 14,000 CY 36"-42" RCP Storm Sewer 3,465 LF Modified Subbase, 6" 12,500 SY Painted Pavement Markings 163 STA Granular Subbase, 12" 12,500 SY Sod Turf Establishment 8,336 SY 7" Concrete Pavement 12,500 SY Traffic Control 4" - 6" Concrete Sidewalk 1,475 SY Temporary Erosion Control 6" Concrete Driveway 3,800 SY together with numerous related items of work, all in accordance with Plans and Specifications. Work on the improvements shall commence upon approval of the contract by the City Council, and as stated in the Notice to Proceed. Work under the Contract must be substantially complete by October 17, 2025, and complete and ready for final payment in accordance with the contract documents by November 21, 2025. Liquidated damages for work remaining after completion dates are defined in Section 00 52 00. All work under the Contract must be complete by November 21, 2025. A bid security as defined by Iowa Code Chapter 26.8 and in the amount of not less than 5 percent of the total amount bid, drawn in favor of the City of Orleans, shall accompany each bid. Each successful bidder will be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to 100% of its contract price. Said bond shall be issued by a responsible surety and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless the City of Orleans from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement caused by failures in materials and construction for a period of two years from and after acceptance of the contract. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities and informalities therein and to award the Contract to other than the lowest bidder if, in their discretion, the interest of the Owner would be best served thereby.
