Questions Due Date: Jan 10th 2025, 12:00 PM CST Online Portal Comal Independent School District ("CISD") is soliciting proposals from qualified vendors for secondary internet connection for the District. The purpose of these connections are to separate the District's internet service by geographic area and balance the traffic load on the primary internet connection. SCOPE: The RFP seeks pricing for secondary internet connections for the District, which will be physically located at Smithson Valley High School and Support Services Building. The purpose of these connections are to separate the district's internet service by geographic area and balance the traffic load on the primary internet connection. The connections will be configured for load balancing with approximately half of all internet traffic traversing the primary link, while the other half will be divided between the two secondary links. These secondary internet connections will be 10GB. The connections must be scalable to 40GB to support possible future upgrades. This agreement shall be for an initial term of one (1) year, renewable for up to four (4) additional years for a maximum total contract length of five (5) years. Each new connection will support approximately half of the district, detailed as follows: Smithson Valley High School will support ISES, KRES, TPES, SES, ASES, BBES, RBES, ECES, STZES, JRES, MVES, SVMS, SBMS, BMS, HCCPHS, CLHS, MVMS, PRMS, PHS, and ES22. Support Services will support CHS, DHS, DMS, CHMS, CMS, MS9, ES23, CCES, FSES, FHES, GFES, GRES, HLES, MES, OCES, CDC, and MECHS. When installing these new connections, respondents should plan new entry and penetration points into the buildings to allow physical separation from any existing cabling. This will minimize unexpected downtime due to line breaks or cuts. Installation/Service dates are to be coordinated with Comal ISD. Respondents should provide an estimated implementation schedule. Comal ISD reserves the right to modify the Scope and Specifications as circumstances require, and may elect to purchase one or both requested internet connections.. The district intends to leverage Erate funding for one or both of these connections. Respondents must comply with all rules and regulations of the Erate program. Proposers shall view all aspects of documentation. Responding to the proposal indicates that the Proposer has performed due diligence and is proposing all components necessary for a turn-key system for each requested item. Comal ISD reserves the right to request additional or clarifying information after the bid response has been submitted. This information may be used to further evaluate the response or qualify overall cost associated with proposed solution.
