New Solid Waste Facility The city is seeking professional services to conduct planning, project design, contract administration, construction coordination, and inspection coordination. Services required include but are not limited to engineering services for all phases A needs assessment shall be conducted to determine current and future needs for space, storage, and staff functionality. The firm shall provide visual effects showing preliminary layouts, a footprint of the proposed building identifying its location on the site including parking areas for all SW equipment. An analysis of the site should include suitability of lot size, lot locations, accessibility, availability of utilities and any drainage or environmental issues. Provide a description and spatial relationships of all major service areas that include detailed square footage requirements, the functions that take place within each area, as well as equipment, furniture, storage needs, and capacity to be served in each area. Provide a preliminary conceptual design that should address, but not limited to equipment, technology, security, lighting, furnishings, seating, access to and from the site, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding building codes. The firm will provide drawings and include preliminary floor plans, evaluations, and parking of SW equipment. Assist city in obtaining competitive bids for the build project and assist in distribution of contract drawings and assist in reviewing bids and contract negotiations. Represent city during construction phase for services on construction observations, review submittal data and products and contractors pay requests, construction conferences, and preparation in its final stage of build. The proposed key elements of a new Solid Waste facility are as follows: Waiting/customer service area for customers. 13 offices to staff administration and field supervisors. A small break room for administration. A small conference room that seats approx. 12 A large classroom that will occupy approx. 80 people A kitchenette attached to classroom. 2 sets of restrooms-separate for admin. staff and field staff. 2 mechanic/work bays for equipment maintenance.
