This call for bids aims to establish per-ton pricing for overlaying city-identified existing city streets with 1-1/2" 411-D and 411-E asphaltic concrete surface hot mix laid in place. It also aims to establish pricing per square yard for Cold Planning of Bituminous Pavement (1-1/2"). McMinnville Public Works reserves the right to haul the mix at the plant price for the supplier to lay in place. A minimum asphalt cement content will be required for the following mixes: 411D-5.5% and 411E-5.3%. Mix designs approved by the Tennessee Department of Transportation must be submitted and properly signed within 2 working days prior to the start of a paving project. Supplier must use all virgin materials in mix designs. Supplier must provide certification of Liability Insurance upon notification of being successful bidder. Paving projects and tonnage will vary citywide. Supplier shall guarantee materials and workmanship against defects arising from faulty materials or workmanship for a period of two (2) years. The Public Works Director or his designee will have the discretion as to determine the final acceptance of all work performed by the supplier. Guarantee will apply to in-place plant mix asphalt only. In case oftie bids, the Streets and Sanitation Committee reserves the right to negotiate with the bidders or reject any and all bids. The rightis reserved as the interest of the City of McMinnville, Tennessee may require to reject any and all bids received.
