Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Evans, Colorado. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

Reference Number 0000371349 Job Location: 23rd Ave; Prairie View Rd; 17th Ave Question Deadline 01/06/2025 at 9:00 AM MT Questions are submitted online No Work for the 2025 Major Roads Project consists of (3) three separate projects. 1. The first project will be a Mill and Overlay of 23rd Avenue from 32nd Street to 37th Street. 2. The second Project will be a full Asphalt Reconstruction of Prairie View Drive from 35th Avenue to 23rd Avenue 3. The third project will be a Mill and Overlay of 17th Avenue from 32nd Street to 37th Street. Each roadway will also undergo concrete replacement of damaged concrete curb & gutter, sidewalks, street pans, or upgrading of ADA ramps for safety / compliance prior to asphalt placement. Project # 1 will consist of a 3" inch Mill and Overlay of 23rd Avenue from 32nd Street to 37th Street. The roadway is believed to be (12") Twelve-inch thickness of asphalt mat over (8") Eight-inch Class 6 Base Material. In-situ earthen material is sandy clay loam. Potholing of this roadway is not expected, but a line item is added to the bid schedule if it becomes necessary. Work for Project # 1 (23rd Avenue) of the 2025 Major Roads Project consists of roto-milling the entire surface of existing asphalt pavement to a 3" three inch depth, installing an emulsified tack layer, placement of a fiberglass underlayment (Tru-pave or similar approved product), placement of a (3") three inch top lift hot mix asphalt Grading S, SP 64-22, adjusting of existing water valves, sanitary sewer manholes, and storm drain manholes which are to be 1/4 inch below the asphalt surface. Concrete collars will be installed around existing utility box structures, survey monuments, and manholes. Installing all thermoplastic symbols, crosswalks, and stop bars, and installing all striping with epoxy paint back to original striping design. Survey and installation of new Section Corners, and Quarter Corners to re-establish our geodetic survey points are expected for this project. It is anticipated that all concrete reconstruction of identified areas will commence in early spring (March 15th) This will require concrete blankets to cure the replacement areas for at least (7) seven days. The City of Evans recognizes that the project is located on an arterial roadway with accessibility concerns for the commercial properties during construction. This site is also near a school, so summer construction is necessary. We will need to keep access open throughout the project, but do not want the increased traffic a school will surely bring when it is in session. The City of Evans will also be installing a new traffic signal located at 23rd Avenue and 34th Street and are planning for roadway boring and installation to be completed prior to paving. Project # 2 will consist of full asphalt reconstruction of Prairie View Drive from 35th Avenue to 23rd Avenue. The roadway is believed to be (5") Five-inch thickness of asphalt mat over compacted in-situ earthen material. In-situ material is clay to pockets of sandy clay loam. Work for Project # 2 (Prairie View Drive) of the 2025 Major Roads Project consists of roto-milling the entire surface of existing asphalt pavement estimated to be (5") Five inches in depth, removal of (9 ") nine inches of in-situ sub-grade material, cement treating the in-situ sub-grade material to a depth of (12") Twelve inches scarification, compaction and re-grading of cement treated sub-grade material, installing an (8") eight inch Class 6 base course layer (crushed concrete is not a suitable replacement product and will be strictly refused), compaction and grading of base course layer, soil sterilization of entire surface of the base course layer, placement of a (3") three inch bottom lift hot mix asphalt Grading S, SP 64-22, installing an emulsified tack layer, placement of a (3") three inch top lift hot mix asphalt Grading S, SP 64-22, adjusting of existing water valves, sanitary sewer manholes, storm drain manholes, and survey monuments, which are to be 1/4 inch below the asphalt surface. Concrete collars will be installed around existing utility box structures and manholes. Installing all thermoplastic symbols, crosswalks, and stop bars, and installing all striping with epoxy paint back to original striping design. Survey and installation of new Section Corners, and Quarter Corners to re-establish our geodetic survey points are expected for this project. The City of Evans recognizes that the project is located on an arterial roadway with accessibility concerns for the residents during construction. There is one subdivision that will require access across the project site located at Harbor Lane, otherwise we are anticipating a hard road closure for all other access points into the project area. We will need to keep access open to this subdivision throughout the project. Project # 3 will consist of a 3" inch Mill and Overlay of 17th Avenue from 32nd Street to 37th Street. The roadway is believed to be (6") Six-inch thickness of asphalt mat over (8") Eight-inch Class 6 Base Material. In-situ earthen material is sand. Potholing of this roadway is not expected, but a line item is added to the bid schedule if it becomes necessary. Work for Project # 3 (17th Avenue) of the 2025 Major Roads Project consists of roto-milling the entire surface of existing asphalt pavement to a 3" three inch depth, installing an emulsified tack layer, placement of a fiberglass underlayment (Tru-pave or similar approved product), placement of a (3") three inch top lift hot mix asphalt Grading S, SP 64-22, adjusting of existing water valves, sanitary sewer manholes, and storm drain manholes which are to be 1/4 " inch below the asphalt surface. Concrete collars will be installed around existing utility box structures, survey monuments, and manholes.
