Scope of Work This scope of work outlines the underground construction activities required to install a new 6" water service line at the Haskell Youth Community Center, 2201 Forest Hill Ave, Flint, MI, 48502. The project will involve cutting into an existing water main and transitioning to a new service line made of C900 material that meets AWWA NSF-61 standards. 1. General o All work shall comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations. o The contractor shall obtain all necessary permits and inspections. o The contractor shall be responsible for protecting existing utilities and infrastructure during construction. o The contractor shall maintain a safe work environment and comply with all safety regulations. 2. Excavation o Excavate a trench of sufficient width and depth to accommodate the new water service line and fittings. The trench dimensions will be determined based onsite conditions and engineering specifications. o Ensure proper shoring and support for the trench walls to prevent collapse. o Locate and protect all existing underground utilities during excavation. 3. Water Main Connection o Isolate the section of the water main where the connection will be made. This may involve contacting the local water authority for temporary shutoff procedures. o Cut a 6" x 6" tee into the existing water main using appropriate cutting and tapping methods that minimize water loss and system disruption. o Install the tee fitting according to manufacturer's specifications and industry best practices. o Install 6" C900 pipe from the existing main on Parkhurst to the connection point inside the Haskell Community Center. o Use appropriate jointing methods, such as mechanical joints or fusion welding, to connect the pipe sections. o Install a 6" gate valve on the new water main to control water flow. o Cut and cap the old water main to isolate the section to be replaced.
