Renovation of a municipal facility in Friendswood, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
A bid guarantee in the form of a bidder's bond, certified check or a cashier's check made out to "City of Friendswood" in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the greatest amount bid must accompany each submission. BIDS THAT DO NOT HAVE THE ACCOMPANYING BID GUARANTEE WILL BE RETURNED TO THE BIDDER. The Texas Local Government Code, Section 2253.021 mandates that a municipality contracting for a public work in excess of $50,000 shall require its contractor to execute a payment bond. The Government code also mandates that a municipality contracting for public work in excess of $100,000 shall require its contractor to execute a performance bond. Both the payment and performance bonds must be written for the total contract value. The city may also chose to require a vendor include a bid bond with their bid to ensure the successful bidder executes contract documents and proceeds with performance. Deadline for Submitting Questions March 7, 2025, 2:00 pm The City of Friendswood reserves the right to accept or reject all or any part of any proposal, waive minor technicalities and award the proposal to the offeror who provides goods or services at the best value for the City of Friendswood.
