West Lexington Street Corridor Transformational Redevelopment Opportunity. The University of Maryland, Baltimore (herein called the "University" or "UMB") seeks proposals from qualified developers interested in collaborating with the University to develop the West Lexington Street Corridor, an area of focus on the university's campus. The primary goal of this development initiative is to improve the vibrancy of the Lexington Street corridor from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to the new Lexington Market. The selected team will have exclusive development rights to several UMB owned parcels, creating a scaled opportunity for neighborhood transformation. UMB envisions a solid mix of residential and retail development on West Lexington Street to serve the campus' 6,700 students, 8,200 employees, 20,000 annual visitors and the surrounding neighborhood.
