Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in El Cajon, California. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the construction of a educational facility; and educational facility.

Demo four existing buildings and install three new portables supplied by the District. Includes some Hardscape updates. The Governing Board of the Grossmont Union High School District ("District") is inviting prequalified contractors with prequalified subcontractors to submit sealed bids for the construction project described below ("Project"). CHAPARRAL PORTABLES. Interpretation of Contract Documents. If a bidder is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the Contract Documents, or finds discrepancies in or omissions from the drawings and specifications, the bidder may submit to the District a written request for an interpretation or correction thereof. The bidder submitting the request shall be responsible for its prompt delivery. Prior to the opening of bids, interpretations or corrections of the Contract Documents will be made only by addendum duly issued by the District. Copies of each addendum will be posted so that each contractor can obtain a copy. No person is authorized to provide any oral interpretation of any provision in the Contract Documents, and no oral interpretation shall be binding on the District. If discrepancies in or conflicts between the drawings and specifications are not addressed in any addenda, the bidder shall include in its bid the methods of construction and/or materials resulting in the higher bid amount. Each bid must strictly conform with and be responsive to this Notice Inviting Bids, the Instructions for Bidders, and other Contract Documents. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding. Except as provided in Public Contract Code Section 5100 et seq., no bidder may withdraw a bid for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after the opening of the bids. DVBE: This bid is subject to Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise requirements. Minority, women, and disabled veteran contractors are encouraged to submit bids. District is required to have 3% percentage each year. Bidder must provide a DVBE prime or subcontractor at 3% or complete the Good Faith Efforts package. Construction Manager will place a DVBE ad. All paperwork is due at time of bid. REQUIRED BID SECURITY: Each bid must be submitted with security in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the maximum bid amount as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the proposed contract, if awarded to the bidder, and will provide the performance and payment bonds, insurance certificates and other documents described in the Contract Documents. Such security must be in one of the following forms: (1) a cashier's check made payable to the District; (2) a certified check made payable to the District; or (3) a bond made payable to the District in the form set forth in the Contract Documents. Any bond must have been issued by a California-admitted surety as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120. REQUIRED CONTRACTOR LICENSE: The class(es) of California contractor's license(s) required in order to bid on and perform the contract for this Project is: A or B. PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BONDS: The successful bidder will be required to provide both a performance bond and a separate payment bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the total contract amount. The forms of the bonds are set forth in the Contract Documents and all bonds must be issued by a California-admitted surety as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120. PREVAILING WAGES: The Project is a public work and the successful bidder and each of its subcontractors of any tier will be required to pay not less than the general prevailing rates of per-diem wages in the locality in which the work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract ("Prevailing Wages"). A copy of the per-diem rates of Prevailing Wages applicable to the Project is on file and available for review at the location specified above as the place for submitting bids, and a copy will be posted at the site of the Project. Construction Estimate: $1,000,000 Notice to Proceed February 14, 2025 Phase One Dates: February 18, 2025 to April 30, 2025 (48 days) Phase Two Dates: June 9, 2025 to July 25, 2025 (34 days)
