As described in the Bid Documents, project consists of new steel structure building with a footprint of approximately 11,700 square feet, and overall area including equipment mezzanines of approximately 15,200 square feet. Building envelope consists of concrete filled CMU walls and cold formed steel studs, decorative masonry veneer and insulated metal panels, aluminum storefront windows and standing seam metal roofing. Interior walls consist primarily of CMU partitions with lesser volume of cold form steel studs and gypsum board. Associated HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, Communications, and Fire Alarm are including. The building will be used as an algae production and oyster hatchery facility. Lab and production spaces have extensive utility, lab casework and biosecurity requirements included herein. Proposals shall be submitted on the blank bid form furnished with the specifications and must be accompanied by bid security in the form of Certified Check, Cashier's Check or acceptable Bid Bond, payable to University of Southern Mississippi in amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the base bid; such security to be forfeited as liquidated damages, not penalty, by any bidder who may be awarded the contract but who fails to carry out the terms of the proposal, execute the contract and post performance bond in the form and amount within the time specified.
