Amtrak is currently accepting Letters of Interest for Construction Services in support of our RNO Exterior Stairwell Security Improvements Project. This project consists of safety upgrades to the exterior stairwell at the Reno, NV (RNO) Station to enhance Amtrak's assets, provide positive customer service and experience, and improve safety and security for customers and Amtrak employees All questions should be directed to the Procurement Agent listed in this advertisement only. The scope of work for this project consists of: NOTE: The stairwell is a one-way method of egress from the platform up to the street level. Stairwell Door on Platform Exit sign o Repair existing Exit sign or replace with illuminated Emergency Exit sign. Door locking hardware o Remove existing crash bar style locking hardware. o Install new heavy duty, commercial grade, crash bar style locking hardware. See Appendix A for Stairwell Door Existing Conditions Area Under Stairs on Platform Level Install a barrier/fence to prevent loitering in the area under the stairs. o Final design to be approved by Facilities Development Manager. See Appendix B for First Level Stairwell Existing Conditions
