Site work and renovation of a transportation facility in New York, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility; and for site work for a transportation facility.
The Design-Builder for Contract S48019R will design, fabricate, construction, install, test and commission a CBTC-based Train Control System ("TCS") that is compliant with MTA C&D's Interoperability Interface Specification to replace the current fixed-block signaling system on NYCT's Fulton and Liberty Lines. *Due to the sensitive nature of the project, reference documents will not be posted. Please obtain documents through the means listed in the invitation to bid.* MTA Construction & Development (MTA C&D) plans to secure the services of a Design-Builder to replace the existing fixed-block relay-based signal system on New York City Transit's Fulton and Liberty lines with a TCS based on Communication Based Train Control technology that is compliant with MTA's Interoperability Interface Specification. The Fulton Line includes tracks A3 and A4 on the 8th Avenue A/C/E line from immediately north of the High Street Station to south of Euclid Avenue interlocking and tracks B1 and B2 on the 6th Avenue "F" line and Crosstown "G" line, from north of the York Street interlocking to north of the Bergen Street interlockings on the upper and lower levels. The Liberty Line includes tracks A3 and A4 on the 8th Ave A/C/E lines from south of the Euclid Avenue interlocking to, and inclusive of, Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard Station. Key elements of the Work for the Project Line include: i) Providing a wayside CBTC-based train control system that replaces all existing signaling functions and equipment and is fully interoperable with CBTC-equipped trains that operate on the Project Line and on the existing Automatic Train Supervision system deployed on NYCT's "B" Division (NYCT's lines operating with lettered service, A, B, C etc.). ii) Providing a 5G-based wayside Data Communication System network. iii) Expanding the existing Automatic Train Supervision system for the "B" Division, at NYCT's Rail Control Center in Manhattan and Backup Rail Control Center in Brooklyn, to include the Project Line. iv) Providing software based, local control panels connected directly to the train control system equipment for an independent redundant control of the train control system. v) Providing a maintainer local control panel in each train control room that allows the maintainer to control the train control system field equipment, locally perform fault finding diagnostic test, and train control system administration, including document control. vi) Performing track switch layout modifications, switch machine replacement and other Work related to the replacement of existing switches on the Project Line. vii) Providing new or updating existing rooms and enclosures in the stations on the Project Line to contain the train control system equipment provided by the Design-Builder. viii)Providing a complete axle counter system. ix) Providing all supporting systems required for operation of the train control system, including but not limited to, utilities, mechanical and civil work, power supply, cabling, raceways and associated signaling equipment. x) Removing and disposing of the decommissioned fixed-block, relay-based and mechanical signal system equipment. xi) Installing cabling and associated equipment for the deployment of a 5G wireless underground cell network to be completed by Boldyn Networks. Contract Term: 2,191 Calendar Days.
