Bids are due by EOD January 24, 2025. I. Scope of Work: Boyne City Main Street/Downtown Development Authority is seeking proposals from qualified companies for the repair of the boardwalk and related areas in downtown Boyne City; located adjacent to the eastern side of Lake Street and extending along the river. The boardwalk is currently a wooden walk that was installed approximately 20 years ago. A map of the area under consideration is included and the area itself is located just north of 27 Lake Street, north of the Water Street intersection. Successful bidder(s) will take into account the ingress to the boardwalk, the boardwalk itself, the interaction of the boardwalk and the private traffic flow/alley way adjacent and any other variables the bidder might perceive. We are seeking the properly licensed and insured company(ies) to review the boardwalk area and offer plans and/or cost estimates for repair of the deck boards and perimeter double joists, reinforce - ment of deck joists of the boardwalk, repair/replacement and anchorage of guard railing posts to the deck structure and stabilization to the adjacent brick paver walkways as needed. EACH OF THESE AREAS MAY BE BID SEPARATELY. Additional items a bidder may take into account: 1) Appropriate foundation for the boardwalk work; some areas listed above (we have plans and a review available) 2) Consideration of vehicular traffic flow on the alleyway (interaction with replacement material for the boardwalk to extend the life of the material and limit repairs) 3) Consideration of long term wear for all materials used; in particular the actual boardwalk 4) Consideration of low maintenance for all suggested improvements or changes 5) Timeline for work to be completed in 2025. II. Deliverables and Requirements: Conceptual drawing and cost estimates for one or more of the following needs for the boardwalk area property: Area A: the boardwalk and the boardwalk foundation, including the ingress from Lake Street and the associated brick paver pathway Area B: the entirety of the railing system that extends from Lake Street east to Park Street The City of Boyne City/Boyne City Main Street reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and modify any provisions set forth in the RFP that is in their best interest prior to execution of a contract.
