Classroom Security Door Locks Request for Proposals (RFP) Berkeley County Schools in Martinsburg, WV seeks to enhance classroom security through the installation of internal classroom door security locks. The scope of this solicitation encompasses the procurement (qty 1,850) and installation of high-quality, tamper-resistant, door-locking systems designed specifically for educational environments. The required security locks should feature: 1. Reinforced steel or reinforced aluminum construction for durability and enhanced protection (withstand at least 1,500 lbs. of force) 2. Barricade functionality to prevent unauthorized entry during emergency situations 3. Quick-release mechanisms for rapid egress when necessary 4. Compliance with all relevant fire and safety codes applicable to educational facilities in West Virginia 5. Compatibility with existing door frames and hardware in Berkeley County Schools, WV buildings 6. Tamper-resistant design to prevent manipulation or disabling of the locking mechanism The selected solution should be suitable for retrofitting existing classroom doors throughout Berkeley County Schools, WV facilities. Installation services may include: 1. Assessment of current door hardware and frames 2. Modification of existing doors or frames as necessary to accommodate new locking systems 3. Professional installation of security locks on designated classroom doors 4. Testing and verification of proper lock function and operation 5. Training for specified Berkeley County Schools, WV staff on the use and maintenance of the new locking systems The security locks should be designed to integrate seamlessly with Berkeley County Schools, WV's existing emergency response protocols and access control systems. Additional features may include: 1. Ability to be locked from inside the classroom without requiring exit to the hallway 2. Master key or device compatibility for authorized personnel and first responders (if applicable) The supplier should provide comprehensive documentation, including user manuals, maintenance guides, and warranty information specific to the installed locking systems. Ongoing technical support and maintenance services should be available to ensure the continued effectiveness of the classroom security locks throughout their lifespan in Berkeley County Schools, WV facilities.
