The Rural Municipality of Mount Hope No. 279 (RM 279) will be accepting quotations for custom gravel hauling services o The contractor will be responsible for gravel loading, hauling, and depositing within the municipality for the purpose of, but not limited to, general road maintenance, road construction, and if applicable, soft spot repair. o Loads will be approximately 20 cubic yards and will be hauled by a truck and/or trailer unit supplied by the contractor. o Type 108 3/4 " spec crushed road gravel will be supplied by RM 279. o All hauling distances are to be calculated by the shortest direct haul from the stockpile to the destination, unless otherwise approved by the Foreman. o Roads to be graveled will be provided to the contractor by the Foreman. o Gravel could be hauled from any of the RM's gravel pits located at: SW 24-25-19 W2 (Bannow Pit), SW 07-29-19 W2 (Pickrell Pit), SW 08-27-17 W2 (Touchwood Pit), NW 34-26- 20 W2 (Bolt Pit), and NE & SE 10-29-18 W2 (Baker Pits) to various locations within RM 279 boundaries. o The contractor will be required to abide by a speed limit of 60km/hour while loaded, reduce speed while meeting oncoming traffic and while passing yard sites. o Hauling will be on an as needed basis, as deemed necessary by the Foreman, and will commence as early as April 1st, 2025, and conclude on or before November 1st, 2025, depending on weather conditions. o The successful bidder will be responsible for maintaining gravel records and supply to the municipal office the loader tickets from each load along with the invoice. o Placement of material on designated roads is to be reported to the Foreman on a weekly basis, with the use of a gravel map. o RM 279 will be authorizing payment for service performed in the previous period once reports are reviewed, scale tickets are reconciled, and upon submission of a monthly invoice. o The preferred hours of operation are Monday to Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with no depositing of gravel to take place on weekends or statutory holidays.
