A critical section of existing 8-inch sanitary sewer main located along 4th Avenue, Babcock Street, and Grand Avenue has been identified for replacement and upsizing per the City's Wastewater Collection Facilities Plan. The existing 8-inch vitrified clay pipe has been identified as high-risk given both the condition and age of the asset. In addition, the City's hydraulic model has shown several segments of sewer main to be near hydraulic capacity during wet weather modeling scenarios. The project includes both the replacement and upsizing of approximately 1,300-feet of existing sewer main. Overall, the project will provide the necessary improvements needed to increase system capacity to meet future build-out conditions while decreasing overall risk associated with critical aging infrastructure. The project was recommended to occur within the City's 5-year short-term planning horizon per the City's Wastewater Collection Facility Master Plan Update. This project is included in the city's fy 2025-2030 Capital Improvement Program.
