Site work and paving for a road / highway in Apple Valley, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
**As of March 6, 2025, the project was awarded to Onyx Paving Company Inc, with an awarded amount of **$867,000.** Reference Number 0000372094 The Project generally consists of providing necessary labor, equipment, and materials for the application of 1" thick asphalt overlay (HMA C2 1/2 " PG 64-16), wedge cold-milling, shoulder grading, adjustment of driveway approach entrances, and removal and installation of thermoplastic striping and pavement markings on various street segments within the Town of Apple Valley as specified in the Technical Specifications and as directed by the Town Engineer. Work on the Project shall be completed within forty (40) Working Days. The anticipated award date is February 11, 2025, and the anticipated start date is on or about March 3, 2025. Please note that portions of the work will be adjacent to school properties. Contractor will coordinate with Town staff to minimize the impact to school traffic. Scheduled closures for Spring Break are as follows: (March 17-21, 2025 for Desert Knolls Elementary on Symeron Road, and Mariana Academy on Manhasset Road (AVUSD), and on March 24, 2025 - April 4, 2025 for A.A.E. Charter School, on Mana Road. No Pre-Bid Conference or Site Walk will be held for this project. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish the Town with Payment and Performance Bonds equal to 100% of the Contract Price, prior to execution of the Contract. All bonds are to be secured from a surety that meets all of the State of California bonding requirements, as defined in Code of Civil Procedure section 995.120, and is admitted by the State of California. Bids must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or a Bid Bond in favor of the Town in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the submitted Total Bid Price. Each Bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the following appropriate classification(s) of contractor's license(s), for the work bid upon, and must maintain the license(s) throughout the duration of the Contract: A The Town shall award the Contract for the Work to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as determined from the base bid alone, by the Town. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding process.
