Renovation of an educational facility in Everett, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Old High School Roof Removal and Replacement The project generally consists of full roof tear-off of entire roofing system down to decking, including all items not otherwise scheduled for removal including the removal, reinstallation and re-energizing of limited MEP equipment and systems. The original facility was constructed in 1921, with the Addition portion constructed in 1976. The estimated cost of the project is $7.9M. Each bidder is advised to visit the site of the proposed work, become fully acquainted with conditions as they exist, and thoroughly examine the Contract Documents. Failure of any bidder to visit the site and to examine the Contract Documents shall in no way relieve the bidder from any obligation regarding the bid as submitted. Arrangements for site visitation, during the bidding period, may be made in the manner set forth in the "Instructions to Bidders". The successful Bidders will be required to provide a Labor and Materials Payment Bond and Performance Bond each being in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Amount. Bonds must be written with a company qualified to do business in Massachusetts and acceptable to the Awarding Authority. The minimum wages to be paid for all labor on the project shall be the higher Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries, Pursuant to the Provisions of Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27D inclusive of Massachusetts General Laws and the Federal Davis Bacon Wage Rates, copies of which are attached to and are made a part of the Contract. Section 6(f) of Chapter 64H of Massachusetts General Laws exempts Massachusetts sales tax on building materials and supplies to be used in the project, and bidders shall not include in their bids any amount, therefore. The successful Bidder must agree to commence work as stipulated in the receipt of the Notice to Proceed and complete the work in accordance with the times established in the Contract. The Awarding Authority will reject general bids when required to do so by the above-referenced General Laws. In addition, the Awarding Authority reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all general bids if it be in the public interest to do so. Attention of all bidders is directed to the requirements of the Supplemental Equal Opportunity, Anti-Discrimination and Affirmative Action Program of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, which is incorporated in the Contract Documents. State law prohibits discrimination. The City reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in whole or in part any or all bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the City. The City of Everett. Bidders requiring clarification or interpretation of the Contract Documents shall make a written request to Allison.jenkins@ci.everett.ma.us. Prime Designer or Owner will answer such requests if received five days (5) working days (Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays excluded) before the date for receipt of the bids.
