Site work for a road / highway in Dayton, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.

Question Deadline 01/23/2025 at 4:30 PM ET The Dayton Cincinnati Pike Roadway Realignment Project straddles the county line between Warren and Montgomery Counties. The southern portion of the proposed improvement is located in the City of Franklin (Warren County), and the northern portion is located in Miami Township (Montgomery County). Dayton Cincinnati Pike (known as North Dixie Highway in Warren County) is a two-lane principal arterial carrying an average daily traffic of 5,200 vehicles per day. An existing retaining wall approximately 790 feet long is located on the west side of Dayton Cincinnati Pike between the roadway and the Great Miami River. The existing wall has a maximum exposed height of approximately 15 feet and is believed to have been constructed by an early interurban electric railroad in the late 1890s. The existing retaining wall is in poor condition. The Montgomery County Engineers Office has concluded that the 125-year-old retaining wall is structurally unstable, not suitable for rehabilitation, and should be removed. The Great Miami River Recreational Trail operated by the Miami Conservancy District is located at the foot of the wall, between Dayton Cincinnati Pike and the Great Miami River. Approximately 1,100 feet of Dayton Cincinnati Pike will be shifted away from the wall and the river, which will allow removal of the old retaining wall. Construction of a shorter, smaller gabion retaining wall 336 feet long will be required at the south end of the realigned roadway. Outside the limits of the gabion retaining wall, the realigned roadway will be supported on 2H:1V sloped embankment armored with rock channel protection. Engineer's Estimate: $3,000,000.00 Question Deadline 01/23/2025 at 4:30 PM ET For bidders preferring to submit paper bids, the bidder is responsible to contact the Office of the Montgomery County Engineer to make arrangements for pickup and payment of bid documents. Bidders shall allow the County up to three business days for printing of paper bid documents. Paper bids are then to be submitted in a sealed envelope to the Purchasing Department at the aforementioned address. A bond for the full amount of the bid, conditioned that, if the bid is accepted, the bidder after the awarding or the recommendation for awarding the contract will enter into a proper contract based upon the bid; (FAXED COPIES ARE UNACCEPTABLE); or, A certified check, cashier's check, electronic bid bond or letter of credit pursuant to Chapter 1305, Ohio Revised Code, in the amount of TEN PERCENT (10%) of the bid. If a TEN PERCENT (10%) GUARANTY is submitted, provided that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will, after the awarding or recommendation for awarding the contract, enter into a proper contract, and indemnify the County against all damage suffered by failure to perform the contract by supplying a performance bond in accordance with Section 153.54(2), et seq. of the Ohio Revised Code for the FULL AMOUNT OF THE CONTRACT. (FAXED COPIES ARE UNACCEPTABLE). A digital ID may be obtained at no cost. However, it should be obtained in advance of submitting a bid as it may take several days to receive. Submission of a bid also requires a payment to of $40 per bid, or a monthly subscription of $50 for unlimited bidding.
