Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Bolton, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The scope of work for this project consists of an all-weather playing field to accommodate soccer, field hockey and lacrosse, along with related amenities such as fencing, spectator accommodations, retaining walls, ADA-accessible surfaced paths and all related incidental work. Funding of the project is by an MVP Action Grant, and includes Nature Based Solutions such as low impact development stormwater treatment, planting of native grasses, shrubs and trees, and stabilized stone dust paths. Bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the Bidder and addressed to Marie Sobalvarro, Town Administrator. All bids must be submitted on the forms included in the specifications and "Bid # 2025-01, Derby Field Improvements, Bolton, MA" must be marked on the outside of the envelope. Electronic or facsimile submittal of bids will not be accepted A bid deposit in the form of a bid bond, or certified check, or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the Town of Bolton shall accompany the bids. The bid bond shall be (1) in a form satisfactory to the Town, (2) with a surety company qualified to do business in the Commonwealth and satisfactory to the Town and (3) conditioned upon the faithful performance by the principal of the agreements contained in the bid. The amount of the bid deposit shall be at least equal to 5% of the total amount of the bid The Town of Bolton reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality and to make the award as may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town. A. This section of the specification covers the control of dust via water or other means, complete and in place. B. Magnesium Chloride or Calcium Chloride shall NOT be used nor shall mulch applications be acceptable. A. This section of the specification covers the provision, operation, and removal of temporary watering system(s) for the following: 1. All buffer plantings areas as shown on plans or as otherwise directed, complete and in place. B. All shrub and Tree plantings will be watered in accordance to Section 32 93 00 - PLANTS. The project Future Resilient Field at Derby is a Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Programfunded project involving the reconstruction ofan existing sportsfield, spectator area, and installation ofa native garden area that will reclaim the area between thefield and top ofslope. This projectshall include low impact developmentstormwater infrastructure, and a natural turffield specifically constructed to encourage soil regeneration and climate resiliency. A. Work under the Item shall be for the services of an independent Environmental Monitor (EM) to oversee all sediment and erosion control measures throughout the duration of the project, including conformance to the requirements of the SWPPP. B. The EM shall be responsible for the following: 1. Review and have a comprehensive knowledge of the environmental permits relevant to the specific mitigation work being done so as to ensure compliance throughout the duration of the contract. 2. Identify and inform the Contractor and Designer of unique site conditions which may require adjustments to the schedule, design, or construction methods. For example, wildlife nesting, illegal dumping, or rare species. 3. Identify and inform the Contractor and Designer of any sediment or erosion control problems observed within mitigation areas. 4. Advise so as to avoid impacts to adjacent areas and regulated wetland resources. 5. Participate in necessary meetings as required by permits and when requested by the Bolton Conservation Commission (BCC) or the Designer. C. The EM shall have the authority to stop construction to ensure that erosion controls are in place and maintained at all times , and/or if the EM determines that work is not being conducted in accordance with the plans and submissions approved by the Commission or this Order of Conditions.
