This contract provides for the construction improvements of an existing wet well mounted wastewater lift station to a submersible wastewater lift station. The new lift station will include a new six-foot diameter wet well, valve vault, control panel with awning, modular block wall, and other mechanical/electrical appurtenances. Work includes approximately 60 linear feet of 4-inch diameter sewer force main, 50 linear feet of 8-inch diameter gravity sewer, wet well coatings, manhole coatings, valves, connections to existing water and sewer system, pavement work, lawn and driveway restoration, and other work. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check for five percent of the amount of the proposal made payable to the City Treasurer, or an approved bid bond for five percent of the amount of the proposal executed on the approved form attached to these specifications. If bid bond is used, the five percent may be shown in dollars and cents or the form may be filled in by inserting therein, in lieu thereof, "five percent of the amount of the accompanying proposal". Check of unsuccessful bidders will be returned immediately upon award of contract. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all informalities.
