Replacement of Siding at Riverview Terrace Apartments The project generally consists of removing existing guttering and downspouts, vinyl siding and trim and replacement with stone veneer, engineered wood siding, and new aluminum guttering and downspouts. Additive Bid Item #1 consists of new window shutters, where indicated on the Drawings. The Contract will be awarded on a lump sum basis as follows; the total Base Bid amount, including any properly submitted and received bid modifications, plus such successive Additive Bid Items as the Owner, in its discretion, decides to award. Bid Security is required to be submitted with each Bid in the amount of five percent of the Base Bid. Bid security may be in the form of a certified check or a bid bond secured by a surety company. A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, in the amount of one hundred percent of the Contract amount, will be required on this Project. The Contractor shall also provide Liability Insurance coverage. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. No Bid shall be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days subsequent to the opening of Bids without the consent of the Owner. If a contract is for one hundred twenty thousand dollars ($120,000) or more, or if the total value of all construction, removal, repair, or improvements undertaken by the bidder within any twelve-month period is seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($750,000) or more, the bidder is required under Title 54.1, Chapter 11, Code of Virginia (1950) as amended, to show evidence of being licensed as a "Class A Contractor." If a contract is seven thousand five hundred dollars ($7,500) or more but less than one hundred twenty thousand dollars ($120,000), the bidder is required to show evidence of being licensed as a "Class B Contractor."
