Landscape Project Phoenix Office Question Deadline 01/20/2025 Except for technical inquiries about navigating and/or submitting proposals in the State's e-Procurement System, the State is not responsible for responding to any inquiries submitted less than three (3) business days before the Bid/Offer due date and time. State Contact Person: Direct all inquiries related to the Solicitation to the Procurement Officer, Mary Crosson 602-364-1578 or mary.crosson@azica.gov including requests for or inquiries regarding standards referenced in the Solicitation. Submission of Inquiries: Submit all other inquiries about the Solicitation using the "Discussions" tab in the State's e-Procurement System. Always refer to the appropriate Solicitation document by page and paragraph number. Duty to Examine: Examine the entire Solicitation, obtain clarification in writing for any questions or concerns by submitting inquiries, and then examine your Offer thoroughly and carefully for completeness and accuracy before submitting it. Lack of care in preparing an Offer will not be grounds for modifying or withdrawing it after the due date and time. The State reserves the right to waive any minor informality, reject any or all offers or portions thereof or cancel the Solicitation. The Industrial Commission of Arizona (ICA) located at 800 West Washington St. Phoenix; AZ 85007 is soliciting for Landscape Remodel Services. The ICA is planning a landscape remodel by removing sod landscape to install Xeriscape for the purpose of water reductions, replacing irrigation lines, to promote plentiful and reliable desert native plant life and allow various types of traditional, cactus, trees to successfully grow with the desert climate and other tasks listed in the scope of work. This project will include several distinctive areas, refer to "Exhibit A, Map of ICA". The agency plans to remove grass areas, add small granite rocks, remove stumps, remove trees, and shrubs, spray herbicide, cap sprinkler heads, add new fabric to reduce weeds, removal of existing brick, upgrade irrigation lines, replace topsoil, lay artificial turf, remove benches, etc. The scope of work is broken out by distinct areas that correspond to map labeled Exhibit A. The contractor will furnish all necessary labor, tools, equipment, vehicles, supplies, and traffic control services and devices as needed to effectively perform the services as specified in this scope of work. 1. Section A This area is south facing grass area between 8th Avenue and 10th Avenue facing Washington Street by establishing the requirements tasks: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Remove or grind all existing six tree stumps. If grinding is required a minimum of 6" below the existing grade is expected. Use Sod Cutter to remove approximately 12,750.00 Sq ft of existing turf. Apply weed control/herbicide to existing turf. Remove all existing sod along Washington Street from 8th Avenue to 10th Avenue. Cap unused sprinklers heads and irrigation lines. Remove all existing brick landscape edging. Install new weed fabric. Throughout the project area, field locate all existing multiport emitters. Replace all existing multiport emitters with new. Add length to existing irrigation line as required so that the emitter is just below grade. Install new 9.5" round irrigation control boxes around each new emitter. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. Install approximately 100 tons of !4 screened granite in areas where the sod was removed. New granite shall match the color and size of the existing. Add additional Vi screened granite to the existing gravel areas where coverage is sparse. Install approximately (30) 5-gallon plants (varieties to be determined). Adjust and/or add new irrigation lines to all new plants. Cap any irrigation lines that are not watering a live plant. 2. Section B This area is the southside basement level courtyard below the pedestrian bridge: 1. Remove three existing concrete benches. 2. Remove five existing trees. 3. Remove six existing tree stumps. Grind to a minimum of 6" below the existing grade. 4. Remove one existing shrub. 5. Remove six boulders by use of jackhammer, excavator, and/or crane. 6. Remove all existing river rocks. 7. Remove all existing crushed granite. 8. Remove all plastic landscape edging. 9. Regrade the entire area with proper compaction and sloping toward the existing storm drain. 10. Apply pre-emergent to new landscaped areas. 3. Section C This area is located on the westside of the building: 1. Remove two existing palm trees. Grind stump to a minimum of 6" below the existing grade. 2. Remove all existing sod, use sod cutter to remove approximately 250 ft of existing sod. 3. Cap all existing sprinkler heads in the area. 4. Apply weed control/herbicide. 5. Install weed fabric. 6. Install new artificial turf. Total approximately 250 sq ft. 4. Section D This area is the planter box adjacent to north entrance: 1. Remove three existing shrubs. 2. Turn dirt over. Replace and/or add topsoil as required. 3. Plant three new 5-gallon plants (varieties to be determined). 4. Verify irrigation lines in the planter box are functioning properly, and repair if required. 5. The ICA Shall: 1. Provide access to the project area to include the irrigation control system in the landscape's shop. 2. Provide access to water lines on the property. 3. Selection of plant varieties provided to the vendor. 4. The agency shall provide temporary fencing around the project areas for the duration of the project. 5. Provide all necessary safety and emergency information to contractor prior to start date. 6. Contractor Shall: 1. The Contractor shall provide a work schedule showing project start date and project completion dates, and the date(s) and time(s) they are planning to work. 2. The Contractor shall provide all tools, equipment, labor, and materials as required to complete the project as outlined above. 3. The Contractor shall wear a company uniform clearly stating the company's name at all times while on the job site. 4. The Contractor shall adhere to all emergency and evacuation procedures as outlined by the ICA
