The Town of Eagle welcomes responses from qualified firms interested in designing the Eagle Skatepark, which will be built at the Haymaker Recreation Hub at 1700 Bull Pasture Rd., near the Eagle Pool & Ice Rink, Bike Park, and BMX track. Scope of Services: The consultant shall provide professional design services, schematic design, and construction cost estimates for the skatepark. The consultant shall establish and implement a community engagement plan to solicit and incorporate feedback from the local community, specifically youth. The consultant shall collaborate on the project with the Town of Eagle and Mountain Recreation staff. Project Description: This request for proposals (RFP) is being issued to design a skatepark in an area with other indoor and outdoor recreation amenities. The site, known as the Haymaker Recreation Hub, includes the Eagle Pool and Ice Rink, Eagle BMX track, Eagle Bike Park and pump track, tennis courts, and trailhead access to Eagle Open Space. The skatepark will be an additional amenity that the community has prioritized at the site. The Town of Eagle and Mountain Recreation jointly owns the Eagle Pool and Ice Rink facility. Additionally, oversight of the Haymaker Recreation Hub and the amenities' programming is a partnership venture between the Town of Eagle, Mountain Recreation, Eagle County BMX, the Vail Valley Mountain Trails Alliance, and other community partners. The Town of Eagle and Mountain Recreation will be the lead partners coordinating this project. All contracts for services will be with the Town of Eagle. The skatepark should be approximately 1.2 acres in size and should accommodate beginner, intermediate, and expert-level riders. The design should include cast-in-place and/or shotcrete concrete construction. The skatepark's specific elements, design layout, and flow should be responsive to community input, specifically from the local youth, who will be the site's primary users. Community engagement to gather ideas and feedback is critical to a successful design. As such, the Town is prepared to partner with the awarded consultant on community engagement efforts. Proposals should include elements of community engagement, focus groups, or other public meetings to aid in the creation of the design. Project Location The skatepark will be integrated into the Haymaker Recreation Hub site located at 1700 Bull Pasture Rd., Eagle, CO 81631. The original site plan can be viewed here: (online). Since the establishment of this plan, pool renovations and the buildout of the bike park have altered the original layout. While the intention is for the skatepark to remain in a similar location within the overall site, the community planning effort will guide the park's exact location. The Town of Eagle reserves the right to reject any or all responses, submissions, and proposals and to waive informalities or deficiencies therein, to negotiate with any or all respondents or others for more favorable terms or prices, and to award a contract at the Town's sole discretion, with or without negotiation.
