Renovation of a water / sewer project in Palm Bay, Florida. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The 110 ft diameter clarifier at the NRWWTP is a holding tank for processed wastewater leaving the aeration basin. In time the solids in the processed wastewater settle to the bottom of the tank, and the clarified water at the top of the tank flows over weirs and is then transported to the north water reclamation facility or is disposed of in the deep injection well. The weirs are exposed to sunlight which promotes the growth of algae. This project address the need for installation of a covering to inhibit the growth of algae on the weirs, reducing man hours needed to remove the algae on a constant basis, and increasing efficiency of the weirs. As of January 15, 2025, this project is included in the City's 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
