Renovation of a municipal facility in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The County of Kenosha Wisconsin (County), through its Purchasing Division (Purchasing), requests bids to establish a contract for a partial roof replacement at the Kemper Center, 6501 3rd Avenue, Kenosha, WI 53143 The Work consists of partial roof replacement at the Kemper Center using a fully-adhered EPDM single-ply roof system. The suspected construction of the existing roofing systems is as follows: 1. Wood roof deck (sloped), two (2) layers of 1.5" polyisocyanurate insulation, EPDM singleply membrane, fully-adhered. 2. This information is provided to bidding Contractors as a courtesy and shall be utilized at the discretion of individual contractors. It is not guaranteed nor does it relieve bidders of their responsibility to become familiar with existing conditions per the Owner's Invitation to Bid. The Work includes: 1. Replacement of perimeter sheet metal flashings, as shown in the drawings. 2. Replacement of gutters and downspouts (with new 6" K-style gutters) 3. Miscellaneous carpentry work (wood nailers), as required by the Construction Drawings. 4. Removal of an abandoned pipe penetration and patching of the roof deck, where shown in the Construction Drawings. 5. Temporary disconnection, raising, and reconnection of a gas line that runs across the roof surface, in order to complete the work. a. Contractor shall utilize a licensed mechanical subcontractor for this work. b. Coordinate/schedule with the Owner before turning off any gas supply to the building. Bidder shall submit with their bid a cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price. Check or bid bonds shall be payable to Kenosha County. This check/bond shall be forfeited to the County if the awarded bidder fails to enter into a contract for the work awarded and file approved performance & payment bonds for the full amount of the contract price within ten (10) business days from date of award. Such bond shall be issued from a reliable surety company having a current A.M. Best rating of A- or better, licensed or otherwise authorized to do business in the State of Wisconsin and acceptable to Kenosha County Kenosha County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids/proposals or to waive any technicality in any bid/proposal submitted, and to accept any part of a bid/proposal, as deemed to be in the best interests and sole discretion of Kenosha County.
