The project consists of a scrub seal on Hackberry Road, starting at FAS Bridge 10,225 feet southwest of Prairie Dog Road, thence east to the US-281 Junction in Hardtner, approximately 10.9 miles. Also, on Hardtner Shortcut, starting at the US-281 Junction in Hardtner, thence north to the US-281 Junction, approximately 13.7 miles. The total length is approximately 24.6 Work will commence no sooner than March 24, 2025 (earliest start date) and no later than September 22, 2025 (late start date). All work shall be completed within 20 working days after the Notice to Proceed. All bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond or a Certified or Cashiers check in the amount of 5% of the total bid. Checks or bonds are to be made payable to Barber County and serve as a guarantee of the sincerity and integrity of the bidder, and shall be forfeited to the County if said proposal or bid is accepted and the bidder fails to execute the contract and file the required statutory and performance bonds as required in the contract documents. All Bidders are to be prequalified with the Kansas Department of Transportation, as outlined in Section 102 of the KDOT Standard Specifications or receive approval to bid the project from the owner.
