Qualified bidders may submit bids for Project as described in this Document according to the Instructions to Bidders. Project Identification: WINDOW REPLACEMENT SHAWNEE COMMUNITY COLLEGE 8364 Shawnee College Road Ullin, Pulaski County, IL 62992 The Work of the Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following Base Bid for: 1. General Contract: Provide selective demolition and new: Aluminum framed entrances and storefronts, glazing, metal stud & gypsum board walls, exterior sheathing, exterior insulation and finish system, door hardware, and paint. New electrical receptacles and wiring. Bids which are mailed prior to the bid opening shall be placed in a sealed envelope and clearly marked "BID FOR WINDOW REPLACEMENT | SHAWNEE COMMUNITY COLLEGE" and shall be addressed to SHAWNEE COMMUNITY COLLEGE at the above address.Bids not received at the appointed time or place are subject to rejection without consideration. Facsimile and Electronic Bids will not be Accepted. All bids shall be enclosed in sealed opaque envelopes with the name and address of the bidder in the upper left-hand corner of the envelope. Bid Security: Each Bidder must deposit with his bid a certified check, cashier's check, bank draft ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS 00 1113 - 2 or bid bond payable to the Owner, in an amount not less than 5% of his Base Bid, as security that he will, within ten days after notification of award, execute the contract and furnish performance and payment bonds in the prescribed form. Performance Bond and Payment Bond: The awarded firm shall be required to furnish bonds covering the faithful Performance of the Contract and the payment of all obligations arising thereunder in the amount of 100% of the Contract Sum for Performance and 100% of the Contract Sum for Payment. On failure to do so, BIDDER shall forfeit the Bid Security as liquidated damages, and acceptance of the bid will be contingent upon the fulfillment of this requirement by awarded firm. Bid Withdrawal: No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days following the time of bid opening. Rejection of Bids: Bidder acknowledges the right of the Project Owner to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality or irregularity in any bid received, to award a Contract for any part of the Work or for the Project as a whole, and based upon past job performance, and other documentation, to accept the bid which, in the Project Owner's judgment, will be for the Project Owner's best interests. The Project Owner may reject a bid if the bidder fails to furnish the required bid security, or to submit any other data required by the Bidding Documents, or if the bid is in any way incomplete or irregular. Bids shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, considering conformity with specifications, terms of delivery, and quality and serviceability, as determined by the Board. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids in whole or in part or to waive any informality in the bidding process. Any such decision shall be considered final. Bidders/General Contractor must be a prequalified contractor with the Illinois Capital Development Board (CDB) prior to the date of the Bid Opening: allow 45 days for application processing.
