Renovation of an educational facility in Raleigh, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Roof Recover of SL - Construction will include all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to perform the Roof Recover of South Campus Building L. The work will include, but is not necessarily limited to replacement of skylights, fall protection, roof hatch railing system, and ladders. Wake Technical Community College reserves the unqualified right to reject any and all proposals. Wake Technical Community College encourages participation by MWBE firms and supports efforts to ensure and promote opportunities for minority businesses. 1 The building will remain occupied during work. The contractor is responsible for taking all precautions necessary to protect the building, contents, and personnel from damage or injury from his operations, and from water entry into the building during construction. 2 Work under this Contract consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to perform the Roof Recover of South Campus Building L. The work will include, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: 3 Building L: Water test all roof drains prior to any work and report any blockages or other impediments to drainage to Owner and Designer, submit pre-work water test results to Designer for record. impediments to drainage to Owner and Designer. Contractor to provide all work and testing required to ensure that drains operate equal to or better than pre-work water test results. Submit final water test results for record. Remove and discard, membrane flashing, sheet metal and gravel-edge metal. Remove stair tower metal standing seam metal roof assembly down to the decking. Prepare roof areas to receive new thermal barrier, insulation (R-25), gypsum cover board, new single-ply membrane with replica standing seam system. Prepare roof areas for recover system. Remove and replace areas of deteriorated wood nailers (Unit Price #1). Remove and discard all existing skylights, a total of five skylights exists on the roof. Install new skylights, a total of five skylights exists on the roof. (Alternate 2) Install new mechanically attached 1/2" (1 layer) gypsum coverboard. Install new adhered TPO single-ply membrane (base bid), PVC single-ply membrane (Alternate 1). Install new membrane flashings and metal flashings, as specified herein. Install new sheet metal and gravel-edge metal as specified herein. Color and size shall match existing. Furnish and install new walk pads as indicated on the Drawings. Furnish and install new roof hatch railing system. Install new ladder. Installation of new fall protection system. Furnish and install any miscellaneous items not specifically listed here. The existing roof assembly (Building L) are composed of the following: 1 TPO Membrane (adhered) 2 Gypsum Cover Board - 1/2 " (mechanically attached) 3 Polyisocyanurate Insulation - 5" (Varies) 4 Gypsum Thermal Barrier 5 Metal Deck (sloped) The approximate size of the roof is as follows (sizes shall be field verified by the contractor): Building L: 45,000 SF. Site activity can take place between May 12, 2025 through August 1, 2025.
