The Project generally consists of the furnishing of all materials, equipment and labor for construction relating to the following tasks: replacement up to 2,300 LF of 8-inch asbestos cement water line with 8- inch DIP water line within Roane County and replacement of approximately 300 LF of 6-inch to 8-inch asbestos cement water line with 8-inch DIP water line within the City of Oakdale. The work includes, but is not limited to, all excavation & grading; fittings; valves; fencing; tie-ins; erosion control; testing; disinfection; and in general, all appurtenances for a complete and operable system in accordance with the provided Drawings and Specifications. Each bidder must deposit with his bid, security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount of his maximum bid price subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders. The successful Bidder for this Contract will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and Payment Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Bid. The Copeland "Anti-Kickback" Act is also applicable, which prohibits workers on construction contracts from giving up wages that they are owed. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all Bids, to evaluate any Bid, and to accept any Bid which in its opinion may be for the best interest of the Owner.
