Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in St. Albert, Alberta. Working plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
Rehabilitation of Children's Bridge (BF78065). The bridge and adjacent trails make up a portion of the City's downtown trail system and run along the north and south banks of the Sturgeon River. It is a tourist attraction within the City and carries pedestrian traffic over the Sturgeon River at SW 4-54-25-W4M. The existing structure consists of a 2 span (13.3m - 40.3m) cable stayed orthotropic steel deck superstructure, supported with a single steel tower and a cast-in-place concrete substructure. The bridge has a clear deck width of 3.0m. Other work includes design and construction of pedestrian nodes at the north and south ends of the bridge for the Founder's Walk Phase 3, and power feed and handrail lighting on the bridge. TIMELINE: Design is underway. Construction is tentatively planned for 2026. Project schedules may be confirmed in 2026, pending owner's capital plans. *Budget is unreleased.
