UDOT halls Ferry, Boat marina, coast guard Lake Powell This is a Request for Information (RFI) only. No award for contract or purchase will be made on this request. The information received may be used in the future preparation and release of a solicitation. Interested parties should register in the online bidding system in order to receive notification of any future solicitations. The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) owns and operates the Charles Hall Ferry (Ferry) at Lake Powell Utah. The Ferry provides service between Halls Crossing, Utah and Bullfrog, Utah. The Ferry is due for a complete cleaning and resealing of the hull. Items of work related to this project will include but not be limited to the following: Removal of the Ferry from Lake Powell and moving it to the paved parking area at the State Line launch ramps. Cleaning of the Ferry Hull including the complete containment and legal disposal of all cleaning and waste materials related to this work. Complete Hull inspection to be completed to Coast Guard Standards Crop and Renew compromised segments of the hull as necessary and identified in the inspection. Resealing of the hull with an appropriate marine hull sealant material that will provide 20 years of service life with proper care. Rebuild of the sea chest to allow easier access for divers. Establish permanent grid markings for future diving inspections of the hull. Clean and paint the the outer portions of the vessel that cannot easily be painted while in the water. UDOT is requesting expert assistance in developing a scope of work in order to develop a Request for Proposals to complete the above mentioned work. UDOT further seeks to understand a realistic time frame to complete the work, the best materials and processes to clean and reseal the hull, approximate cost range to complete the work, and answers to additional questions as needed.
