Site work and paving for a transportation facility in Zephyrhills, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility; and for paving for a transportation facility.

All project documentation and addendums will be available at this location. It is the sole responsibility of all interested parties to ensure the receipt of any addendums. Requests for additional information or clarification must be received in writing no later than Friday, February 21, 2025, 10:00 am. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Please send your inquiry via email to Karen Miller, Purchasing Agent at kmiller@ci.zephyrhills.fl.us. There are no DBE goals. Each bid must be submitted through electronically and must be accompanied by a certified check on a solvent bank or trust company in accordance with Section 255.051, Florida Statutes, made payable to the City of Zephyrhills, Florida in an amount not less than 5% (percent) of the total bid or a bid bond of like amount, on a form set forth in the contract documents, as a guarantee that if the bid proposal is accepted, the bidder will execute and fill in the proposed contract and furnish a Payment and Performance Bond at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price within ten (10) days after Notice of Award of the contract. Please note, the bid bond amount needs to be spelled out and in numeric amounts. It is not allowed to put in 5% on the bid bond form. The bid package language accommodates for all types of services and/or purchases. Bid Bond: A bid bond shall accompany each bid response. The bid bond shall be for an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid price and shall be made payable to the City as a guarantee that the Bidder will not withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after bid closing time. The Bid Bond is to be included in their eProcurement response (electronically). Payment and Performance Bond and All Insurance Shall be Secured from or Countersigned by an Agency or Surety Company Recognized in Good Standing and Authorized to do Business in the State of Florida. If at any time the Owner for justifiable cause shall be or become dissatisfied with any Surety, then upon the Performance of Payment Bonds, the Contractor shall within five (5) days after notice from the Owner, substitute an acceptable bond (or Bonds) in such form and sum and signed by such other Surety or Sureties as may be satisfactory to the Owner. The premiums on such bond shall be paid by the Contractor. No further payments shall be deemed due and shall not be made until new Surety or Sureties shall have furnished such an acceptable bond to the Owner. Insurance: The Contractor shall, prior to commencement of work, take out and maintain in full force and effect minimum insurance coverage as specified. The policy's expiration date shall exceed the length of the named project/contract. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to insure that all subcontractors comply with the following insurance requirements: Insurance Requirements for Subcontractors: Due to the recent difficulties in the insurance market which often makes it impossible for smaller subcontractors to meet the requirements accepted by the general contractor, the following program is now in effect: A. The general contractor will continue to provide insurance coverage as required by the City. B. The general contractor will continue to sign a standard Hold Harmless / Indemnification clause. C. The contract/bid document will simply state that the contractor is responsible for insuring that his/her subcontractors are adequately insured and that any action taken against the City would be covered under the contractor's signed Hold Harmless/Indemnification clause. D. An exception to #C would be in the case of any subcontractor whose work has a value of 50% of the total project cost, the subcontractor will be required to meet the same insurance requirements imposed upon the general contractor. E. The City retains the right to require any subcontractor to provide proof of insurance coverage and to request modifications when deemed necessary. The insurance certificate shall be endorsed by the Contractor's insurance carrier. All certificates of insurance must be approved by the City of Zephyrhills, Florida and name the City as an additional insured. The City of Zephyrhills is soliciting a licensed State of Florida contractor to rehabilitate Runway 1-19 in accordance with the specifications and plans and as described in the following work items: The rehabilitation of the existing asphalt pavement on Runway 1-19 will include a nominal 2" milling and 2" of new asphalt mix pavement, grooving, pavement markings, sodding, and replacing some of the elevated Runway 1-19 edge and end lights with flush mounted lights. The overlay will include the Runway 1-19 width of 100' plus 10' shoulders on either side. The remaining 15-ft shoulder width on either side will be milled 1.5" and paved to tie to the adjacent pavement. Approximately 400 square feet of Runway edge will require a leveling course around the station 19+25 to 19+75 to obtain the 2% allowable slope. The Runway width, geometric layout, and safety areas will remain unchanged in this Project. This project shall be in compliance with the Florida Building code (last edition); Federal; State and City codes and requirements and be in accordance with the plans and specifications contained here.
