Site work for a civil project in Lamont, Alberta. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Process Water Intake Project. North Saskatchewan River Intake (Phase 1) and Water Supply Pipeline (Phase 2). TIMELINE: Project is in the pre-design phase. WSP has been engaged as the owner's representative to provide engineering services. Scope of work includes: 1. Establishing a management framework for a Public-Private Partnership (P3) procurement process leading to the execution of a project agreement; and 2. Municipal oversight and management of the construction of the River Intake (Phase 1) and, on the condition that Phase 2 proceeds, the provision of Water Supply Pipeline (Phase 2). Approval for construction of the river intake has been submitted to Alberta Environment and Protected Areas and Federal authorities and is expected by mid-2025. Construction start is currently planned for the second quarter of 2027. Further update may be available in late spring/mid-2026. *Phase 2 of the project, which includes the addition of a water pipeline to the system, is not currently approved, and is anticipated to proceed once a partner agreement, funding, and municipal and provincial approvals have been executed.
