Equipment Requirements Newark Board of Education intends to purchase and install Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) in its Main Distribution Frame (MDF) locations in up to 77 schools to protect its Network Core switches and Wide Area Network edge switches from unexpected network outages due to power fluctuations and or environmental conditions. The equipment at the school will require up to 1000 Watts of power. The District is requesting pricing for American Power Conversion (APC) Smart-UPS 1500VA LCD RM - UPS - 1000W (Watts) - 1440 VA ("volts amps") 120V (SMT1500RM1U) with APC UPS Network Management Card with Environmental Monitoring (AP9631) and rail kits for both two pole and four pole racks or an equivalent solution. At the Central Office location, we need 9 APC Smart-UPS SRT 6000 On-Line, 6kVA/6kW("kilo Watt"), Rackmount 4U, 208V, 2x L6- 20R+3x L6-30R NEMA outlets, Network Card + Smart Slot, Extended runtime, W/ rail kit. This will replace the existing UPS hardwired to power each IDF closet. Along with each UPS, we will need compatible switched and managed PDUs ("power distribution unit") to connect our equipment. Information documenting the equivalence of alternative equipment (in features and performance) is the responsibility of the proposed vendor. It must include trade publication(s) reference documentation to facilitate the District's assessment. The requested documentation must be provided for each part substituted with an equivalent part for the corresponding bid to be considered valid. Bids that do not provide the requested documentation will be regarded as non-compliant. Due to space limitations in the District's Main Distribution Frame (MDF) rack, the 1000W solution must be a maximum of 1U ("rack units"), while the 6000W solution can be larger than 2U.
