Renovation of a stadium in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Completed plans call for the renovation of a stadium.

The City of Yellowknife proposes to install an Adiabatic Fluid Cooler on the existing BAP-150A Artificial Ice Plant at the Multiplex Facility in place of the current evaporative cooler. The current remote evaporative condenser has reached it life span and adding the Adiabatic Fluid cooler removes any chance of ammonia leaks due to the aging heat exchanger coil. We have invested in a SMART Transfer system for safety and this project will further increase safety by reducing the required ammonia charge for the system. This change will direct 100% of the discharged gas from the compressor package to the heat reclaim condenser only. Currently, discharged energy (discharge gas) flows between the heat-reclaim condenser and outdoor evaporative condenser. Due to the remote location, a lot of energy created by compression is lost to the cold ambient air surrounding the heat exchanger coil. In our very cold climate we have had freeze ups which threatened the arena schedule. This new unit utilizes the adiabatic process; this significantly increases thermal efficiency with minimal water usage. Documents can be obtained from https://yellowknife.bidsandtenders.ca/
