Elm Street Flood Control Drainage Improvements Subcontracting portions of the work will be allowed pursuant to Section 108.01 of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Illinois Department of Transportation, latest edition. The work for which proposals are invited will consist of, in general, but shall not be limited to, the following: storm sewer installation, combination curb and gutter removal and replacement, sidewalk removal and replacement, pavement patching, landscape restoration and all other incidental work necessary to complete the project. Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond for five percent (5%) of the total bid made payable to the City of Prospect Heights shall accompany the bid. The work shall be prosecuted in such a manner and with such a supply of materials, equipment and labor as is considered necessary to ensure its completion according to the time specified in the Contract. The Contractor shall be completed on or before Friday, May 16th, 2025, as described in Article 108.05 of the Standard Specifications. In case of failure to complete the work on time, the provisions of Article 108.09 of the Standard Specifications. The Owner reserves the right to reject any bidder or subcontractor who, in the opinion of the Owner or the Engineer, does not have adequate experience, personnel or equipment to perform the work in a timely, efficient and satisfactory manner. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids or any part thereof and waive any informality or any irregularities or defects in any or all proposals and to accept that bid which in its opinion is in the best interest of the Owner. Any such decision shall be considered final. It is the intent of the Owner to award a contract to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder. The work is located on Elm Street in Prospect Heights, IL.
