This Design-Build Project consists of upgrades to On-Site Sodium Hypochlorite Generation (OSG) systems across five potable water well sites, which will include replacement of outdated, unsupported equipment and replacing old failing equipment & piping, and construction of new rooms and buildings to accommodate the new equipment at the following well sites: * Well 24 - Northeast corner of I-10 and Haven Avenue * Well 30 - 202 S. Wineville Avenue * Well 35 - 625 E. Main Street * Well 36 - Southwest corner of Jurupa Street and Archibald Avenue * Well 38 - 837 N. Center Avenue The estimated cost for the future design and construction for the OSG Phase 1 Upgrades is $8,000,000. Compliance with the Skilled and Trained Workforce requirements of 2600 -2603 & 22164(C) of the California Public Contract Code is MANDATORY The OSG system consists of many components including but not limited to: * Brine system - Brine tank, Brine booster, Salt Storage Area * OSG Unit - either 1 or 2 units per site capable of making 20lbs/day to 100 lbs/day of .8% (<1%) sodium hypochlorite solution. Each unit has a power supply, control valves, brine pumps, PLC/Controller, electrolytic Cell, and all appurtenances related to SCADA * Storage Tank - 500-1500 Gallon Single wall poly hypochlorite Storage tank with float switches to control Miox units and a radar level transmitter connected to City's programmable logic controller * Water softeners - 2 tanks in series (Provided by City) * Injection System - 2 ProMos 40 hydraulic injection pumps, SS injection Panel with Toshiba G series VFD's - G9 or latest * Coordination with the City's SCADA Software Engineer - The City works exclusively with Freedom Automation Inc for our software engineering needs The City of Ontario exclusively uses OSG Units manufactured by Miox, the VFD's are Toshiba G series, match City's Design Standards & injection pumps are Prominent Chemical Metering pumps. OMUC uses passive hydrogen venting in all OSG Units and tanks. Most equipment at the sites will have to be removed and disposed of or returned to the City for surplus, OMUC will determine on-site at the time of construction. All piping & chemical injections lines will need to be removed and replaced. In accordance with 22164(b) of the California Public Contract Code ('CPCC'), all potential Design-Build ('DB') Teams must be prequalified in accordance with the criteria established in 22164 of the CPCC and by the City.
