The University of Nebraska is requesting proposals from qualified bidders to provide all material and labor for repairs to the original reinforced concrete floor framing systems supporting the main floor of the north "boiler bay" of the City Utility Plant. The framing consists of cast-in place concrete beams supported on concrete columns with a one-way structural floor slab at the west and several sections of concrete pan-joist sections at the middle and east sections. Several locations are exhibiting large concrete spalls and corrosion to the embedded mild-steel reinforcing. Shoring design during the repairs will be contracted by the awarded bidder as the on-going operation of the utility plant is critical to the project's success.
