Project Description: The work of this contract generally consists of construction of a 144 ft. long culvert bridge across Payne Creek in Hardee County, Florida. The culvert bridge will consist of Two (2) - 14 ft. diameter aluminum culverts, Four (4) - 10 ft. diameter aluminum culverts and One (1) - 8 ft. diameter aluminum culvert, with concrete headwalls. Additionally, approximately 500 feet of the roadway on the north and 500 feet on the south shall be reconstructed and paved, to match the elevation of the new bridge w hich is to be approximately 2 feet higher than the existing roadway. Guardrail shall be constructed on both sides of the roadw ay and bridge for the entire length. The Corlix corrugated aluminum pipes shall be provided by the County and are on the site. The granite rip-rap rubble to be placed upstream and downstream of the culvert bridge is also on-site. The ten (10) Dywidag tie rods have also been purchased by the County and shall be made available. All other materials required to construct the roadw ay and bridge and disposal of any materials to be removed from the site, shall be the responsibility of the Bidder. All required permits have been acquired by the County(except NPDES Permit by Contractor). All workmanship and materials shall be in conformance with the Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction (2025) (excepting Division 1, Section 9 regarding fuel adjustments and Price Escalation) and the FY 2024-25 Standard Plans.
