Scope of Work includes, Phase Two renovations of the existing Centre Gymnasium (former Centre Middle School Gym) into a new Com-munity Activities Building located on the City's Property at 350 E. Main Street, Centre, AL. The Work consists generally of selective demolition of existing finishes, renovation of the Concession, Lobby, Restrooms and Office areas, new plumbing fixtures, new HVAC systems serving the renovated areas, new lighting and power in the renovated areas, new floor, base and wall finishes in the renovated areas, new partial height cast stone façade and planters, new handrails and painting of the existing P.E.M.B. siding. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Architect or copies thereof. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of forty-five (45) days. The bidder shall file with his bid either a cashier's check drawn on an Alabama bank, payable to the City of Centre, Alabama, or a bid bond executed by a surety company duly authorized and qualified to make such bonds in Alabama, in an amount equal to the lesser of five per-cent (5%) of the bid or ten thousand ($10,000). The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for the satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond or Bond in the amount required by Section 39-1-1(a), Code of Alabama 1975, and evidence of insurance as required by the bid documents within ten (10) days after being notified that he has been awarded the contract. Contractors and Vendors who base their pricing from bid documents obtained otherwise, either in part or whole, do so at their own risk.
