All requests for approved equals, clarification of specifications, or s be put in writing and be received by the Authority no later than 5:00 p.m., on March 20, 2025. Installation of Battery Electric Bus Chargers at Santa Ana Bus Base The description of this project is installation of electrical service infrastructure and equipment, emergency stand-by generator, Authority furnished battery-electric bus chargers, and related work at Santa Ana Bus Base. The estimated cost for this project is 3,600,000.00. Bidders will be to hold a valid State of California C-10 specialty contractor license or hold a valid State of California A general engineering contractor license and subcontract to valid State of California C-10 specialty contractor licensee. BID SECURITY FORMS Bids shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check, or an acceptable bid bond for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the order of the Orange County Transportation Authority. A corporate surety (not an individual surety), registered in the state of California and registered to do business in the county of Orange issue bid bonds. Said check or bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract if awarded the work and in case of refusal or failure to enter into said contract, the check or bond, as the case may be, shall be forfeited to the Authority. PERFORMANCE BOND The successful bidder shall furnish at its own expense a Performance Bond (Exhibit E) satisfactory to the Authority in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the full amount of the contract as a guarantee of good faith on behalf of the Contractor that the terms of the contract, including all warranty provisions, shall be complied with in every particular. The bond shall be in effect during the entire term of the contract and warranty and shall be issued by a corporation surety (not an individual surety) in the state of California and registered to do business in the county of Orange. The bond shall not be issued from a corporation surety that requires a funds control, funds disbursement, or funds administration company for the issuance of the performance bond. The bond shall specifically provide that if the Contractor, or its subcontractor, fails to fully perform that the surety or sureties will pay for the same in an amount not exceeding the amount specified in the bond and in case suit is brought against the Authority, that the surety will undertake the defense of same. PAYMENT BOND The successful bidder shall furnish a Payment Bond (Exhibit F) satisfactory to the Authority in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the full amount of the contract. Such bonds shall be in effect during the entire term of the contract and warranty and shall be issued directly by a corporate surety (not an individual surety) registered in the state of California and registered to do business in the county of Orange. The bond shall not be issued from a corporation surety that requires a funds control, funds disbursement, or funds administration company for the issuance of the performance bond The Authority reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, or any item or part thereof, or to waive any informalities or irregularities in bids.
