Town of Winthrop, MA (Owner) invites Bidders to submit sealed Bids for Contract 12 - Lead Service Replacement, which includes the replacement of up to 60 lead water services (Base Bid) and, if awarded, 40 (Alternate A Bid) lead water services with new service saddles and corporation stops or corporation adapters, new copper tubing, new curb stops, new curb boxes, and appurtenances on public and private property as directed by Owner; complete restoration of public and private property to pre-construction conditions; and all materials, equipment, services, and construction inherent to the Work. B. Partial lead service replacement shall be defined as all labor, equipment, tools, materials, and services required to replace public or private lead services with new copper tubing 1. Private partial lead service replacement: Furnishing and installing curb stop, copper tubing from curb stop to 1-foot beyond the interior building foundation wall, flushing and chlorinating service pipe, coring, penetrating, and repairing foundations, and restoring site to a condition equal to or better than pre-construction conditions, as determined by the Owner. 2. Public partial lead service replacement: Furnishing and installing tapping saddles or corporation adapters, reaming existing corporations, capping existing corporations, copper tubing from the water main to the property line or back of sidewalk, as directed by the Owner, curb stop, flushing and chlorinating service pipe, and restoring public property as specified.
