The 10841 DOUGLAS AVENUE BUILDING DEMOLITION shall include: Demolition of three buildings and a pool. Related items including removals, traffic control, and erosion control. Estimate: $260,000.00 QUESTIONS AND ADDENDA A. If any person contemplating submitting a Bid for the proposed work, material, or equipment is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the Plans, Specifications, or other Contract Documents, the Bidder may request an interpretation thereof. The person submitting the request will be responsible for its prompt delivery. B. Questions concerning interpretation or intent of the Contract Documents should be directed to: City of Urbandale Department of Engineering and Public Works 3600 86th Street Urbandale, IA 50322 (515) 278-3950 C. Any oral interpretation given will be valid only if confirmed by written Addendum. Information obtained from an officer, agent, or employee of the Owner shall not affect the risks or obligations assumed by the Contractor or relieve the Contractor from fulfilling any of the conditions of the Contract. D. The Owner reserves the right to revise or amend the Contract Documents, prior to the date set for receipt of Bids. Such revisions and amendments, if any, will be announced by an Addendum or Addenda to the Contract Documents. E. Copies of such addenda as may be issued will be furnished to all holders of Specifications. F. Bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of all Addenda by listing such Addenda in Proposal. Contractor shall fully complete the project by June 27, 2025. Work on the improvement shall be commenced immediately upon approval of the contract by the Council, and be completed as stated below. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of contract a corporate surety bond, in a form acceptable to the City, for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent of the amount of the contract. The bid security must be in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount including all add alternates (do not deduct the amount of deduct alternates). Bid security shall be in the form of a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on an FDIC insured bank chartered under the laws of the state of Iowa or on an FDIC insured bank chartered under the laws of the United States; or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States; or a bid bond on the form provided in the contract documents with corporate surety satisfactory to the City. The bid security shall contain no additional conditions either in the body or as an endorsement thereon, except as provided by law. The successful bidder will be required to furnish Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, said bond to be issued by a responsible surety and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment for all materials and labor and protect and save harmless the City, from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operation of the Contractor. The City of Urbandale reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The 10841 DOUGLAS AVENUE BUILDING DEMOLITION shall include: Demolition of three buildings and a pool.
