Renovation of a library in Evanston, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.
The project involves replacing the existing ballasted coal tar pitch roof membrane with an EPDM roof membrane to improve drainage and prevent future water infiltration. Additionally, the project includes: New gutters for optimized water shedding. New insulation. Rebuilding 75% of the parapet walls. Cleaning and removing efflorescence from the brick masonry. Replacing deteriorated mortar and sealant joints. Replacing deteriorated coping stones Project is included City of Evanston Fiscal Year 2025-2030. As of August 8, 2025, this project is underway. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
