Renovation of a clubhouse / community center in Newtown, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center.
The Town of Newtown (hereinafter known as "Town") is seeking proposals for a qualified Construction Manager at Risk ("CMAR" or "Contractor") to install a dehumidification unit at the Newtown Community Center Aquatic Facility, located at 8 Simpson Street as per the plans and specifications completed by Marchetti Consulting dated 09-16-24 and 10-7-24. Built in 2019, this state-of-the-art facility requires additional dehumidification to maintain optimal humidity levels, ensure comfort and safety for patrons, and preserve the infrastructure. The objective is to have minimal closure of the pool area. A high- level overview of schedule is required with this proposal. Construction managers are expected to deliver a comprehensive proposal based on the provided drawings, covering all aspects of the project including site assessment, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, training and close-out. The proposal must include a cost breakdown, timeline, and evidence of experience with similar projects. This project is essential to enhancing the functionality and longevity of the community center. The awarded bidder will need to provide an estimated schedule or time frame and provide a high level over view of timelines with starting points. This is a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) project. All pricing submitted in a bid package shall be valid for one hundred twenty (120) days. Estimated Start of Work August 2025 Question Deadline 02/10/2025 at 5:00 PM ET Questions concerning this bid must be submitted in writing and directed only to: Kerri Mubarek kerri.mubarek@newtown-ct.gov. Response will be in the form of an addendum that will be posted approximately by Tuesday, February 11, 2025 by 5pm located on the Town of Newtown website under the Purchasing Department. The Purchasing Authority of the Town of Newtown reserves the right to accept or reject any or all options, or proposals; to waive any technicality in any proposal or part thereof, and to accept any proposal deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Newtown.
