The City of Kelowna is seeking a qualified contractor for the construction of Glenwood Avenue urbanization between Richter Street and Ethel Street. This project includes a full road reconstruction to an XS-27 road cross section including paving, curb, sidewalk, boulevard, parking lanes, watermain upgrade, storm system installation, pavement markings, signage and overhead utility undergrounding. Approximate quantities of key items are: 3,159 m2 of cold milling; 3,164 m2 of 50 mm paving; 3,164 m2 of 100 mm base gravel; 3,727 m2 of 300 mm sub base gravel; 712 m of curb; 1,348 m2 of standard sidewalk; 191 m2 of 200 mm thick concrete lane entrances; 292 m of 200 mm DR18 water main; 34 m of 150 mm DR18 water main; 14 water services, 50 mm poly; 9 water service connections to new main; 3 hydrant assemblies; 272 m of perforated 300 mm SDR35 PVC storm with rock surround; 20 m of 450 mm SDR35 PVC storm; 22 catch basins; 7 drywells; and 1 flow control manhole. Over head Fortis Power cables are being placed underground. Work includes the installation of 1215 m of conduit, three 832 power vaults, one medium service box, one large service box and 6 pole risers. Overhead Telus cables are being placed underground. Work includes 622 m of conduit installation, two 1102 service vaults, one 2335 fiberglass service box, 2 pilasters and one connection to a Fortis standoff bracket. Overhead Rogers cables are being placed underground. Work includes 700 m of conduit, five 3048 service boxes, one pilaster and one connection to a Fortis standoff bracket.
